The first trailer for the new Transformers spin-off Bumblebee has arrived, and we’re here to break down all the secrets, Easter Eggs and references we found in it.

Bumblebee is set in 1987, and from this first trailer, it’s clear the movie has a different tone than the Michael Bay Transformer movies that have come before it. Incidentally, 1987 is the year the original run Transformers cartoon came to an end. Perhaps that’s just a coincidence, but if intentional, it’s a nice little touch!

That’s our first look at the new Transformers movie, Bumblebee. Refreshingly there was barely an explosion in sight, with the new movie looking more like a mix of E.T. meets The Iron Giant. If that proves true, we look forward to crying our eyes out when the movie comes out in December. Great…
