It is the 30th anniversary of Street Fighter and Capcom is celebrating with more than just the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection. Today, Capcom released the first episode of a three-part documentary about the beginnings and rise of Street Fighter as a series and its effect on the fighting game community as a whole.
This documentary, which is distinct from the James Chen-narrated vidoc going over the games themselves, takes a more holistic look at the series by starting with Street Fighter IV and the revival of fighting games in the mainstream. The video blends interviews with fighting game players, people involved with the production of the series, tense public matches, and even clips from the Street Fighter anime.
You can check out the first episode below with the second and third episodes coming soon.
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection released on May 29 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch.
