Red Faction: Guerrilla Remastered has gotten a launch trailer and release date. The original became a cult-classic among fans for the open world’s incredible destructibility and creative freedom. The “Re-Mars-tered” edition adds native 4k support, a suite of graphical upgrades and all the previous DLC.
The remaster comes to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on July 3. Owners of the original on PC will get a free upgrade to the Re-Mars-tered edition.
The launch trailer adopts Idle Thumbs song “Space A**hole” which they made in 2009 for the game when it originally released and is a fun nod to the fans who made this game a success.
Our Take:
Red Faction: Guerrilla was an awesome game at launch, and one of my favorites that year. It is hard to believe it has been almost a decade, but I have been looking forward to this re-release for a while. Hopefully, this is a precursor of a possible sequel, since Red Faction: Armaggedon was a disappointing change in pace from Guerrilla.
