Metal Wolf Chaos is a video game in which Michael Wilson, the 47th President of the United States, hops into a mech to fend off an insurrection and his own conniving Vice President. It was created by Dark Souls‘ own From Software for the original Xbox. In short, it was and still is ridiculous.

Despite having English voice-overs, the game never saw release outside of Japan. Metal Wolf Chaos has built up something of a cult status since 2004, and now, that affection seems to have led somewhere.

If anyone can make things happen for Metal Wolf Chaos, it’s Devolver Digital.

The off-kilter indie outfit expressed interest in the game back in 2016, and now the publisher is in full-on teasing mode just days before the start of E3 2018. Whether a localized re-release is in the works or this tease is building toward something more substantial, this is all very on-brand for Devolver.

We should find our answers this Sunday during Devolver Digital’s E3 press conference.
