Shape of the World was successfully crowdfunded back in 2015 by Stu Maxwell, a senior VFX artist who worked on Gears of War 4. A fact that doesn’t provide any hint as to what one might expect. If you were to say, “Hey, maybe it’s a digital exploration along the lines of Aphex Twin’s Selected Ambient Works Vol II in game form”, then you’d be be pretty close to describing Shape of the World.
