FromSoftware officially announced Sekiro – Shadows Die Twice at Microsoft’s E3 press conference today.
Sekiro – Shadows Die Twice is being published by Activision and was revealed in a spectacular, and uncharacteristically colourful, trailer. The game has a release window of 2019.
You take the role of a ninja who can traverse through what appears to be a 15th century Japanese setting with a grappling hook attached to his prosthetic arm. Though it shares a similar aesthetic to Tenchu, FromSoftware’s other ninja series, it is being pitched as a brand new game.
Sekiro – Shadows Die Twice appears to hit the characteristic beats of the Souls series, with a focus on frantic sword-play and giant enemies. It was first teased last year with a gory close-up shot of its protagonist’s prosthetic arm, which lead many people to conclude the developer was teasing Bloodborne 2.
