Kingdom Hearts 3 has been a very long time in the works, with over a decade having passed since the last numbered entry in the series. Having gone hands-on with the game just a few weeks ago, it looked like there was finally a light at the end of the tunnel and that the game was going to make its promised 2018 release date.
But it just wouldn’t be Kingdom Hearts if there wasn’t one last delay attached.
No, Kingdom Hearts 3 will not release in 2018. It’s probably something long-time followers of the series should have expected, like I did, before letting my guard down again. But yes, Square Enix confirmed the delay late Saturday night during the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World Tour from Los Angeles, down the street from the site of E3 2018.

More information regarding Kingdom Hearts has been promised for this month, including another new world reveal. It’s been largely assumed that information would be revealed during this Monday’s Square Enix E3 Showcase, which might still contain information about the aforementioned world reveal. However, those hoping Kingdom Hearts 3 would make it in time for the big fall gaming season are going to have to wait just a little bit longer.
