In an evening full of head-turning trailers, Insomniac’s Spider-Man’s may have been the wildest. The Spider-Man clip ended the show for Sony and was the most detailed look at gameplay that has been seen since the game was announced. While the first gameplay footage was shown at last year’s E3, this year’s footage is likely to be much closer to what we will see in-game when Spider-Man swings onto the PS4 September 7.

The trailer opens on a stormy evening at The Raft, a supermax security facility. We see Spider-Man and a female police officer responding to trouble caused by Electro. It appears that all the inmates, including other supervillains like Scorpion, Rhino, and Vulture are set free, leaving our hero in quite the pickle. The trailer ends on a cliffhanger where the mastermind behind the jailbreak is revealed to Spider-Man but not the viewer.

We will have to wait until September 7 to find out the big secret that is sure to play a major role in the game.
