Remedy Entertainment, a studio best known for creating Max Payne and Alan Wake, announced a new IP during Sony’s E3 2018 media briefing. If the reveal trailer is to be believed, Control features gravity-bending combat and an eerie sense of unrest.
As the character walks though a distorted area known as the Oldest House, limp bodies float all around her. Her gun changes form and she possesses the ability to cast debris at her attackers. Not much else is known about Control at this point, but the trailer leaves us with several questions.
We do know, however, that Mikael Kasurinen is directing the game. Kasurinen worked as director for Remedy’s last major game, Quantum Break. Shortly after the reveal, Remedy creative director and writer Sam Lake took to Twitter, calling Control, “a dream come true.”
Control is set to hit PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019.
