Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 Remake will be released on January 25, 2019.
The launch date was revealed at the end of a trailer that was released during Sony’s E3 press conference.
Resident Evil 2 was released on the original PlayStation back in January 1998. Hideki Kamiya was the game’s director, with Shinji Mikami sliding over into a producer role. It eventually made its way to PC, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, and GameCube.
Resident Evil 2 Remake was announced in 2015. Until now, details on the Remake have been few and far between, with Capcom focusing its Resident Evil-attention on 2017’s Resident Evil 7. We scored that game a 7.7, saying, “RE7 is a fresh take on the Resident Evil series that fondly recalls the classics even as it takes a bold new direction.”
