Resident Evil 2 means so much to so many of us. It’s a genuine classic that, to this day, remains a lot of fans favourite Resi game. Despite its cumbersome tank controls and dated graphics and voice-acting, the 1998 TWO-DISC epic is still a pilgrimage made by its dedicated followers every year or so.

Next year, we will get to experience the terror of that Licker by the window, the arms flailing through the boards, the giant fucking moth, and that horrifying sewer tunnel of tarantulas, as Capcom’s genre-defining classic returns for a whole new generation.

This week at E3, developers talked over ten minutes of PS4 footage taken from their upcoming “don’t call it a remake” release, as swoony dreamboat Leon Kennedy turns up for the worst first-day-of-work ever. No sign of that prick reporter with the ponytail though…

Resident Evil 2 will rise once again on PS4, Xbox One and PC January 25, 2019.
