Dragon Quest is undoubtedly one of the biggest names on the JRPG market, and for good reason: the longrunning series has been offering up peerless style and gameplay for over thirty years. Shacknews recently had a chance to speak with Neal Pabon, product marketing manager for Square Enix, to discuss the first-ever hands-on demonstration for Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age as well as some miscellaneous details regarding the game’s characters and plot.

Pabon touched on some of the things players might notice with the new Dragon Quest 11 demo. Taking place near the beginning of the game, the first part of the demo gives players a sense of solo exploration and the size of the world. The second part reportedly takes place much further in the game, where players can experience what it’s like to have a full party at their disposal.

Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age marks the first time that the series has made a full console release since 2004, when Dragon Quest 8: Journey of the Cursed King released for the PlayStation 2. The latest game in the series should present some of the best visuals and gameplay offered by the entire series as a whole, no doubt bolstered by the power available within modern-generation consoles.

Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age will release for PlayStation 4 and Windows PCs worldwide on September 4, 2018.
