Red Dead Redemption 2 is almost certainly going to be the biggest game to release in 2018. It’s likely to be so big and intimidating to other titles that they have seemingly moved their releases to from 2018 and loaded up on February 22, 2019. Games like Anthem, Metro Exodus, and Days Gone would undoubtedly drive console sales over the holiday but are moving into the dead months of Q1 2019. Is that a coincidence or are they just trying to get away from Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Release Date
Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to come out on Friday, October 26, 2018. It’s initial release will be on the PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC release yet to be confirmed. If history repeats itself, Red Dead Redemption 2 could follow its console release with a PC release about a year later. That’s the way things were handled with Grand Theft Auto V. This would mean hoards of gamers buying the game on console initially and then buying it again on PC. It’s a genius business model, really.
While Red Dead Redemption 2 is likely to outsell all other games in 2019, it could be even more popular than anticipated. The rumors are that Rockstar could include a battle royal mode in Red Dead Redemption 2, which would be like if Grand Theft Auto V and Fortnite had a baby.
