HBO has announced two of its biggest series, Game of Thrones and Westworld, won’t be at San Diego Comic-Con 2018.
The shows will not be present at Comic-Con this year because of their production schedules and air dates. The second season of Westworld is nearly finished with two episodes remaining, while the final eighth season of Game of Thrones won’t air until 2019.
HBO released the following statement regrading San Diego Comic-Con 2018:
Due to production schedules and air dates for Game of Thrones and Westworld, these series will not be presented at San Diego Comic-Con this summer. HBO has a longstanding relationship with SDCC, and we are very grateful for the fans’ enthusiastic response over the years. We look forward to returning in the future.
