In addition to the long-awaited release of the new Sanhok island map, which aims to deliver shorter and more consistently exciting matches via the smaller play area, PUBG’s update #15 includes some additional significant changes to the game. Update #15 goes live on June 22, 2018, and we’ve got some of the highlights down below, including the new weapon: The QBZ95 assault rifle.
The QBZ95, which you can see in action in the trailer above, uses 5.56mm rounds and holds 30 rounds per standard magazine. An extension changes the capacity to 40. In Sanhok only, the QBZ95 completely replaces the SCAR-L in the weapon spawn pool.
With Sanhok now in the mix, PUBG Corp devs have decided to change the map selection option to a playlist option. The two options are Battle Royale and Mini Royale. Battle includes Erangel and Miramar. Mini only has Sanhok, so it’s entirely possible the upcoming snow map will be slotted into that playlist. If it isn’t, it is clear that smaller maps are in the plans.
Additional performance, UI, and Sanhok feature updates can be found in the PUBG steam page post sharing all the patch notes for update #15. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates and be sure to download update 15 on June 22, 2018.
