Speaking in an interview with Newsweek, producer Motohiro Okubo has stated that among the features returning for the upcoming Soulcalibur VI will be the ever-popular Character Creator.

Making its debut in Soulcalibur 3 back in 2005, the “Create-A-Soul” feature remains one of the only real character creation modes in modern mainstream fighting games, though other franchises, such as Mortal Kombat, have dallied with such modes in the past.

Players combined the movesets of other characters in the game with a wide variety of clothing, armour, hair styles and other such accessories to make their own battle-hardened monstrosity, but taking them out to battle to test their worth against Soulcalibur’s roster of legendary heroes.

In the same interview, Okuba also spoke of SCVI’s DLC Season Pass, which will add extra characters and other updates to the anticipated fighting title post-release. Soulcalibur VI launches on PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 19.
