The reveal of Devil May Cry 5 at Xbox’s E3 press conference made major waves. Then, it mostly disappeared for the rest of the show. It didn’t have a presence at Capcom’s booth, as the publisher focused more on Resident Evil 2 remake and Mega Man 11.

Even though it quickly vanished from E3, this won’t be a drawn-out years-long tease, thankfully. Devil May Cry 5 will be playable at gamescom in late August. This revelation was shared on the Japanese-speaking Capcom TV stream today, reported by Japanese site Games Talk, and translated by Gematsu. It’s a convoluted language barrier-hindered path.

We’ve reached out to Capcom for direct confirmation that Devil May Cry 5 will be making an appearance at gamescom, and whether this hands-on demo will be playable for the public or just for media. We’ll update this post if/when we hear back. In the meantime, imagine how fantastic it’d be for Dante to brawl inside Koln’s famously amazing cathedral.
