Due to the ongoing legal disputes over the Friday the 13th franchise, Friday the 13th: The Game will receive no future content.

This news comes from an official forum post from the game’s co-creator Wes Keltner, who said of the issue: “Development on games can’t just pause indefinitely and pick back up again; it doesn’t work that way. We can’t keep building content that may never see the light of day. We can’t

either. We can’t add any content, whatsoever. Nada.”

The legal dispute in question is complicated, involving the original film’s scriptwriter, the 1976 Copyright Act and the future proceedings of a Connecticut federal court case. With Friday the 13th: The Game falling under this complex array of problems, it’s simply not feasible for Gun Media and IllFonic to continue producing new content for the game.
