Starting in July, MoviePass will start charging subscribers surge pricing for specific popular movie titles – or what CEO Mitch Lowe calls, “high demand” pricing, Business Insider reports. This news comes one day after AMC announced the launch of their movie ticket subscription service.
The charge will affect those who have a monthly MoviePass subscription opposed to an annual membership, and those members will have to pay $2 or more for certain titles and showtimes that are for a more popular demand, such a opening weekends.
