The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is a free-to-play prequel of sorts that only takes you a couple of hours to play, but it’ll stick with you long after that. It’s meant to tie into Life is Strange 2, and introduces us to a young boy named Chris, who loves to pretend he’s a superhero. You can meet the courageous little guy in the first 15 minutes of the game below, but you might want to prep some tissues if you decide to dig in yourself.

In the footage, you’ll watch Chris play around in his room with a bunch of action figures while chatting to himself about his superhero persona, Captain Spirit. You’ll also meet his father, who you see shades of some pretty negative stuff from, but for the sake of not spoiling the game for those of you who haven’t played it, you might want to just let it play out on its own.

Check out the footage above, and see if it doesn’t inspire you to try out the game for yourself. Then check out Ozzie Mejia’s questions to ponder between now and when Life is Strange 2 finally comes out. They’re some real whoppers, let me tell you.
