Spain is the official partner country of this year’s Gamescom, to be held from the 21 to 25 August 2018 in Cologne, Germany.
Spain is the fourth largest gaming market in Europe (after Germany, the UK and France), and will join as a partner for the first time in Gamescom’s history. Spain will enjoy 100 square metres of real estate at Gamescom, and this year both the media and the public will be able to experience the Spanish gaming scene at the show through game demos, talks, workshops, and a ‘Games from Spain’ guide.
“With Spain we were this year not only able to recruit a partner country for Gamescom that is one of the largest markets in Europe, but also a country with a lively and creative developer scene and games culture,” says Felix Falk, managing director of game, the sponsor of Gamescom. “Like everywhere in Europe, and fortunately also in Germany, the Spanish government is currently committed to increased support for the local games industry. Here too, Spain and Gamescom suit one another especially well this year”.
