Psyonix is quite literally shifting the pitch for Rocket League‘s birthday. To celebrate the game’s upcoming third anniversary since its launch, there’s going to be new playlist with a drastic overhaul to the way the field looks.
It’s a throwback to the origins to Rocket League, which is called Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars (SARPBC). It’s crazy that name never stuck. For some really great insight to SARPBC before Rocket League, NoClip made a documentary that details Psyonix’s early days.
One of the chief differentiators of SARPBC is that the goals weren’t along the back walls of the pitch. Instead, there was room to maneuver behind the nets, kind of like a lacrosse field or a hockey rink. Between July 9 and July 23, Psyonix is bringing that back.
