Zero Escape is a love-it-or-hate-it series due to its combination of choose your own adventure narrative branching, wacky lore, and difficult puzzles. For those who can’t get enough of the mind-bending morality labyrinths, good news: the director of the series, Kotaro Uchikoshi, just announced a new game for Switch/PS4/PC.
Set in modern Tokyo, AI: The Somnium Files, you play detective Kaname Date as he works to solve a series of gruesome murders. The game has no release date yet (but is confirmed for worldwide release) and no gameplay details, but here’s a announcement trailer showcasing some of the story beats and character designs courtesy of artist Yusuke Kozaki, known for his work on Fire Emblem and No More Heroes:
