Capcom is bringing the world of Monster Hunter to life in the form of a new computer-animated special. Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild is scheduled to air in 2019, the product of a partnership between Capcom and production company Pure Imagination Studios.
There aren’t a lot of details on hand at the moment other than the fact that it’s targeting a 2019 announcement, but we do know that it’ll follow a young male warrior who strikes off on his own from his hometown to tackle the dangerous Elder Dragon. The project was written by Joshua Fine, who was responsible for the Stars Ultimate Spider-Man series.

Capcom and Pure Imagination will bring the animated feature to a massive fanbase, especially since Monster Hunter World has done so much for the franchise thus far. It quickly sold a number of copies, going on to become Capcom’s fastest-selling and best-selling franchise in the history of the company. That’s proof people are definitely going to be into this show.
Unfortunately, that’s about all we know about the project so far. Hopefully we’ll have a sneak peek at what the special might look like in the future, but right now all we can really do is guess. Supposition is still fun though, right?
