As far as Transformers events go, Unicron has some pretty strong selling points. It’s a story that hinges on the return of one of the most iconic but underutilized Transformers villains. It’s also one that promises to profoundly reshape IDW’s Transformers universe, to the point where it’s not even clear what (if anything) will be left standing in the end. But for all that excitement and hype, the actual story feels disappointingly straightforward and unremarkable in issue #1.
