Fortnite players have been having a lot of trouble getting into the game today. First, PlayStation 4 players started having trouble with the PSN NP-39225-1 error, and now Epic Games has announced that they’ve pulled Fornite servers offline, citing considerable issues regarding matchmaking, login, and voice chat operations.

Epic Games and the Fortnite crew give a lot of live updates to players via the Fortnite Twitter account, and recent tweets have been centered around a number of different issues plaguing game services.

Just moments after the above tweet was posted, the Fortnite Twitter team announced that they’d be taking servers down while they continue looking into the cause behind all of the different problems

Why Are Fortnite Servers Down?

Right now, we have no real idea why Fortnite servers are down. The timing is too close to the PSN network error NP-39225-1 to be a coincidence, though we really can’t say that either issues are related to one another until we hear more from either Epic Games or from Sony. As for now, it appears that Epic Games is primarily looking into “game service issues,” “PlayStation party issues,” and “voice chat connectivity.”

When Will Fortnite Servers Be Back Up?

The Fortnite crew is most certainly looking into the problems that caused them to take servers offline, but as it stands at the time of writing, there is no timeline for when Fortnite servers will be back online. Until then, players can always check the latest Fortnite server status by heading over to the Fortnite server status page, or by continually checking out the Fortnite twitter to hear the latest updates.
