For years now, a small but dedicated team of modders has been toiling away to enhance the PC version of Resident Evil 4 with crisp new textures. Capcom released a self-described “Ultimate HD Edition” on Steam back in 2014, but it wasn’t exactly an across-the-board revamp — some textures were upgraded, but not everything got the same amount of love. That’s where Albert and Cris come in.
The two modders are striving to create the best-looking Resident Evil 4 possible, and they just passed a major milestone. Rather fittingly, a new release of the Resident Evil 4 HD Project is out in time for Friday the 13th. This latest version includes new textures for the game’s final major area, The Island.
