The Vampire Chronicles, an upcoming TV series based on 11 of Anne Rice’s vampire novels, will premier on Hulu.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Hulu managed to come out on top in a competitive situation to become the home of the series. Vampire Chronicles will stand alongside other Hulu exclusive shows, including The Handmaid’s Tale, Marvel’s Runaways and the upcoming Catch-22.
The television rights to the franchise were optioned by Paramount and Anonymous Content last year, and it was announced in January that Bryan Fuller joined the project as showrunner, but left the project soon after. Fuller reportedly stepped down from the project to avoid stepping on the toes of Anne Rice, a longtime friend of his, and her son Christopher Rice, who wrote the show’s original script.
