Sea of Thieves owners on both Xbox One and PC will get a free content update called Cursed Sails on July 31, Microsoft announced today.

Cursed Sails includes a new Skeleton Ship AI enemy and the Brigantine Ship which is designed for crews of three players. Additionally, the update will let players form alliances with each other to help take on bigger challenges resulting in greater rewards. Microsoft says Cursed Sails will be Sea of Thieves’ biggest update yet.

A limited-time campaign will deliver the new content, which will then be permanently available to all players, regardless of whether or not they played the limited-time event. The three-week campaign will have skeleton ships terrorizing outposts and challenging pirates to battle on the open seas. Players will also be able to take on an optional sidequest to discover the source of the skeleton ships.
