Wanna shake what your mama gave you with the monsters from the Hotel Transylvania series? You can, very soon, as a new game based on the animated movie franchise is now available at over 500 VR arcades across North America, Europe, and China. The game, surprisingly, is a VR rhythm title, called Hotel Transylvania Popstic. It’s not exactly what you may have had in mind for the property, given its horror roots and monster-laden story, but hey! More rhythm games are always good in my book.

You can select from Drac, Mavis, or Johnny to play as your DJ, and then choose songs from the character you’ve chosen’s playlist. Once you’ve picked out a song, you’ll dance along the music while using a VR controller known as a Stic, created by Sony Pictures Virtual Reality from Specular Theory.

“From the outset, Hotel Transylvania Popstic was designed to work for the growing VR arcade audience. It’s the perfect pairing of a movie brand that families love and a music rhythm game that is as fun to watch as it is to play” said Senior VP of Virtual Reality at Sony Pictures Entertainment Jake Zim.

Unfortunately, we don’t really have any way to see the game in action or really judge whether or not it’s any good at this time, so just imagine that you’re dancing in real life at a VR arcade using a “Stic” with Hotel Transylvania characters, and you should be good to go.
