The first episode of the new Mega Man cartoon, titled Mega Man: Fully Charged, will premiere on Cartoon Network on August 5.

The cartoon is written by Man of Action studios, the writing team behind shows like Ben 10 and Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. It was revealed last year that the cartoon would be a new take on the Mega Man franchise focusing on a younger audience. From the 2017 synopsis:

“The new animated Mega Man series focuses on a normal, upbeat schoolboy robot, who discovers that deep within his programming lies secret protocols that can transform him into the powerful Mega Man. And, as the world’s first robotic super-hero, Mega Man must face the threats of Silicon City, while trying to preserve his secret identity and maintain a regular robot boy life.”

When the show was delayed to 2018, media companies Dentsu Entertainment and DHX Media said the 26-episode show had been retooled, but it wasn’t said exactly how. We’ll likely find out during San Diego Comic-Con when a panel on the show will be held where we’ll also probably see the first footage of the show.

For a more traditional experience, Mega Man 11 is also releasing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on October 2.
