San Diego Comic Con, the biggest annual event in the world of comics, is about to kick off, giving eager readers and fans a close look at new developments and inside details from some of the industry’s hottest talents. Of course, SDCC encompasses more than just comic books — not only will attendees be able to meet high-profile celebrities and show off their boldest (and often most revealing) cosplays, they’ll also be able to learn more about art, design, writing, marketing, and more. Keep reading to learn about when SDCC 2018 will begin and end, including the Preview Night events slated to begin later today.
SDCC 2018 Start Times, End Times, and Preview Night Events
Technically speaking, the SDCC 2018 festivities are basically already underway — the event’s Preview Night is scheduled for July 18, kicking off with a 4 p.m. PST program titled Teaching with Comics: An Interactive Workshop for Developers, and followed up with the Manifest World Premiere at 6 p.m. and New Line Cinema’s “Scarediego” at 9:30 p.m. tonight.
Preview Night notwithstanding, SDCC 2018 formally kicks off Thursday, July 19, with the first programs set to start around 10 a.m. PST. From there, a huge number of different programs and panels will be offered to attendees from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day.
This year’s San Diego Comic Con will end at 5 p.m. PST on Sunday, July 22, with a number of panels centered around 3D cartoons, drawing in different studio styles, writing for virtual reality games, and exploring the origins of Black Panther.
