A Stargirl TV show has been announced for the DC Universe streaming service.
Per THR, Geoff Johns will executive produce and write the 13-episode scripted series, with Greg Berlanti producing through Berlanti Productions. The show will premiere on DC universe sometime in 2019.
Created by Johns and Lee Moder, Stargirl made her debut in July 1999’s Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. #1. The story follows Courtney Whitmore aka Stargirl, a high school sophomore who inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to battle villains of the past. The very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, will be featured.
