There haven’t been too many challengers to the PC market dominance held by Steam’s massive digital distribution network, but if anyone can make a viable competitor, it’s Tencent. The China-based publisher recently launched its all-new digital platform and social service WeGame worldwide, and now the company is looking to introduce a new foundation for one of the biggest titles in modern gaming: Fortnite.

According to a report from PCGamesN, Fortnite will be among the latest additions to land on the WeGame platform. The announcement was made via Tencent Games on Twitter, an account that has since been suspended for an unknown reason. The tweet itself reportedly included text saying, “Fortnite, wow! It’s coming,” followed by an image of the WeGame mascot rendered within Epic Games’ Fortnite engine.

This news will probably come as no surprise to fans who keep an eye on the news, as Tencent purchased a 40% stake in Epic Games way back in 2013. Though they hadn’t yet revealed any plans to bring Fortnite to WeGame previously, it was all but given that Epic’s hit battle royale would eventually come to the service.

In addition to the reveal announcement, a noticeboard suggested that the game would be arriving on July 24, which is next Tuesday. WeGame players should be happy at the timing, then, as they’ll be in a prime position to enjoy all of the latest Season 5 goodies, including the new golf carts, new map areas, new shop items, and a chance to complete new tasks like the latest basketball hoop challenge.
