Epic has addressed many of the problems that plagued the first week and kickoff of the Fortnite Summer Skirmish event, stating “it did not go as planned.”

postmortem of the event was published where Epic addressed the incredible amounts of lag that forced the event to end after four of a total ten planned matches.

“We believe that there are number of factors that caused the poor server conditions during this event,” said Epic. “This includes the number of players still alive in the later circles, the number of players that stayed connected to spectate until the end, and the amount of dense building that occurred late in the matches.”
