If you love Dragon Ball FighterZ and have been eager to take it on the go, you are probably eagerly anticipating the Switch version. The good news is that you will be able to try it when the public beta launches some time in August, but the even better news is that the Switch version is coming with some new multiplayer modes, as well.
When it comes to the Switch, FighterZ will add two new online modes: 1v1 and 2v2. This means you don’t need to field an entire party of three characters if you don’t want to play that way and can instead play with just one assist or even zero other party members. It’ll be interesting to see if Arc System Works is doing any balance changes for these new modes, as characters like Base Goku have moves that vary in power depending on the number of teammates left on your side.
Additionally, an entirely new six-person mode is coming for offline only. It’s not clear if this uses multiple Switches or just six controllers on one Switch, but either way, it gives each player control of one character in the 3v3 match. It has not been said yet whether any of these will be coming to the existing PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC versions of the game.
Dragon Ball FighterZ launches on the Switch on September 28.
