Nintendo has revealed the third kit in its Labo series of cardboard constuctions for Switch, and the first new one since Labo launched. Toy-Con 03: Vehicle Kit lets you build bespoke controllers for a car, airplane and submarine which can be played with in the accompanying software.
A release date for the Vehicle Kit was also announced: 14th September. UK pricing wasn’t revealed, although in the US, the Vehicle Kit will cost $69.99 – the same price as the Variety Kit, which retails for £50-60 in the UK, and $10 cheaper than the Robot Kit.
The announcement trailer shows a steering wheel being used to drive an off-road buggy, a flight stick to fly a small prop plane, and a device with two control wheels being used to steer a submersible with two rotating motors. A “key” housing a Joy-Con remote is slotted into the controllers to transform one vehicle into another in-game. There’s also a pedal that can be used with all three vehicles.
