Winnie-the-Pooh is a character that I was afraid to admit I liked. I’m not ashamed to say that I love to watch Disney movies, but Winnie-the-Pooh always had an air with it that it was for babies. It seemed too childish for me for a long time, even as an adult. But when I saw the trailer for Christopher Robin months ago, all of those memories came flooding back to me. I realized then that it was okay to say that I liked Winnie-the-Pooh.
Granted, I only have vague memories of watching some of the direct to VHS specials back in the day, or of playing a PC game that I know I played, but I can’t remember what it looked like. But the trailer still hit me in a sweet spot. It made me feel like I was a little kid again in all of the best ways. And then Christopher Robin ripped out my heart and made me bawl like a baby in public. And I have no regrets about it.
