Gloomhaven is one of the most popular board games available right now, so I was thrilled to take a look at its first-ever expansion on the show floor of Gen Con 2018.
Gloomhaven: Forgotten Circles will add a brand new class, the Diviner, alongside just over 20 scenarios designed specifically with that class in mind. You will need a Diviner in your party to even take those missions on, and the shorter campaign tells a story that she is a central character in.

This is a fairly large change from the base Gloomhaven campaign, which doesn’t put class restrictions on specific missions. But part of the reason for it is the way the Diviner plays — more precisely, the fact that she can teleport through solid walls. There are certain scenarios that would literally be unbeatable without her.
