Netflix is developing a sequel to its 2017 Death Note movie.
In a report focusing on the future of Netflix’s movie division, THR has confirmed a Death Note sequel is in the works. Greg Russo, the writer of the forthcoming Mortal Kombat movie reboot, is penning the screenplay.
However, there’s no word on whether or not director Adam Wingard will return to helm the sequel and there aren’t any story and casting details that have been released either.
In the same report, THR notes Netflix Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos called the Death Note movie a “sizable” success for the streaming service.
