Soulcalibur VI has been revealing characters and story modes at a steady clip, but some of its content is still under wraps. However, it looks like a recent fighting game tournament in Melbourne, Australia is showcasing two characters who haven’t been officially revealed.
Images and gameplay of the two characters in their SCVI forms have popped up on gaming forum Resetera, and while screens alone can be doctored, it’s much more difficult to make up fake gameplay. While the Youtube upload of the gameplay has already been taken down, the backup video on Japanese video site Bilibili is still up, and the footage looks fairly legitimate.
The characters are sporting looks entirely different from their SCV days, which also means this is likely not a simply mod adding the characters into the new game. You can even see the using some of SCVI’s new tricks like the Reversal Edge. Cervantes is still rocking his signature dual swords, and can still teleport and perform his signature Geo De Ray spin move. Raphael also retains his fencing style, including his dodge-into-attack routines.
We’ve reached out to Bandai Namco for a statement regarding the footage and will update this story should we hear back.
