Capcom has released a demo for its upcoming side-scrolling retro revival Mega Man 11, and it’s available to download now on Switch, Xbox One, and PS4.
Mega Man 11’s demo offers a single level’s worth of cavorting from the final game – the pyramid stage that’s been shown off regularly in early promotional material – and includes three difficulties modes, so that both newcomers and old-hands can fully appreciate the action. There’s also a taste of Mega Man 11’s additions, including the new Double Gear system, and the whole thing culminates in a showdown with Block Man.
This masonry obsessed robot is also the subject of a demo-based community event; whenever a sufficient number of players beats Block Man during the demo, a portion of his statue (pictured below) will be chipped away. If the whole thing comes down before launch, all demo players will be rewarded a selection of “single-use items” that can be redeemed in the full game.
