Final Fantasy XIV is still trucking with its Stormblood expansion storyline, which will continue yet again with patch 4.4, Prelude in Violet. It’s down to the wire but we have a little more information on the massive upcoming update, most notably the fact that it’ll launch on September 18.
It’ll sport two new dungeons, more Lost Canals of Uznair (treasure dungeon) extensions, new mounts, mannequins for your houses, at least one jumping puzzle, and Chaos (the ultimate foe from the original Final Fantasy) will be featured as a raid boss in the Omega: Alphascape tier.
This is the last major raid update outside of possible Ultimate tiers (for the 1%) and another 24-person casual raid slated for 4.5. After 4.4 Square Enix will likely tidy the storyline up, and is expected to reveal the next expansion during the Fan Fest Vegas event in November. A trailer for patch 4.4 will be out this week.
