Déraciné is not a typical From Software game, and that has me all the more curious to see what’s beneath the surface. Now confirmed for a November 6 release on PlayStation VR, this “classic adventure” will place inquiring puzzle-seekers inside a boarding school where “time stands still.”

SIE Japan Studio producer Masaaki Yamagiwa has the best summary of the game I’ve seen so far.

“Players take the role of an unseen faerie who appears in an old secluded boarding school where six boys and girls and their aging headmaster live,” he noted on the PlayStation Blog. “As you explore a world where time stands still, you will gather a great number of hints, and a story will emerge as you put these fragments of information together. Then this story will deepen, and elements that you initially thought were simple will take on greater meaning. The core of this experience is found in the small epiphanies – the moments when the dots connect and you learn something new.”

That sounds… nice. I can’t picture anyone rushing out to buy PlayStation VR after hearing about Déraciné, but for those of us with the device, yeah, it should be worth considering later this year.
