There are a good handful of games that have been published by Microsoft Studios that seemed to be permanently exclusive to Xbox One and Windows 10. As it turns out, that exclusivity isn’t permanent.
Tomorrow, a bunch of Xbox exclusives will launch on Steam. They are: ReCore: Definitive Edition, Super Lucky’s Tale, Disneyland Adventures, Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection, and Rush: A Disney-Pixar Adventure. They all unlock on September 14, and none of their Steam pages list a price. Developer Playful Corp. has confirmed to Destructoid that Super Lucky’s Tale will cost $20, which is $10 less than it launched for last November. Strangely enough, it was a collaboration with THQ Nordic that helped bring this to fruition.
This is a fine development for anyone who wanted to try any of these games but a) doesn’t have an Xbox and/or Windows 10 or b) has a strong aversion to the Windows Store. But don’t hold out hope that this might indicate Xbox’s flagship titles will see similar Steam releases. Halo, Gears of War, and Forza probably aren’t going anywhere.
