When Eli Roth’s name comes up in conversations, it’s a safe bet that horror films are the topic of said discussion. Even though it’s been five years since Roth released his last genre movie — 2013’s Green Inferno, which was an ultra gruesome send-up to ’70s horror classic, Cannibal Holocaust — the writer-director still resides in the fandom that inspired him to make Cabin Fever, his first breakout hit.
Demonstrating his love for horror cinema, its history, and the passionate fandom that comes with it, Roth acts as the producer, curator, and host of AMC’s next installment of their Visionaries docuseries. Earlier this year year, James Cameron led a series of episodes exploring cinematic science fiction through the years. Just in time for the Halloween season, Roth is spearheading seven episodes of the next installment of the series, exploring the History of Horror for casual and die-hard fans alike.
