PlayStation 4’s anticipated 6.0 system software update went live earlier today. After weeks of speculation as to what the update may include, many fans were disappointed to learn the update brings with it only one stated change: improved system performance.
Sony held a private beta for the 6.0 update last month, with sign ups going as far back as mid-July. Then, in late August, Sony unexpectedly began rolling out a new PlayStation Store search bar, which many thought would be fully released as part of the 6.0 update. This level of testing and preparation led some PlayStation 4 owners to believe big changes were in store for when the update eventually went live.
