Venom is one of the most iconic characters in the Marvel comics roster, but the upcoming adaptation directed by Ruben Fleisher is looking to offer a new take on the lethal protector that fans haven’t seen before.
The new film serves as a Venom origin movie, but it breaks Venom’s origin away from the Spider-Man story it’s directly tied to in almost every iteration of the character that’s come before. This time around, Venom comes to Eddie first, and it’s their struggle to develop a symbiotic relationship that is at the center of the film.
