Sukeban Games had something of a niche hit on its hands when it released VA-11 HALL-A on Steam in 2016. The dystopian bartending sim has sold more than 200,000 copies on PC and Vita, where it saw release last fall, and will be ported to PlayStation 4 and Switch early next year. Hopefully, these two ports will introduce thousands more to the mysteries of Glitch City and prepare them for the next entry in the franchise, the exquisitely named N1RV Ann-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action.
Tentatively scheduled for a 2020 release, N1RV Ann-A will take players off the gritty streets of Glitch City and introduce them to the idyllic Saint Alicia. The game will star bartender Sam, who is having issues with her Yakuza partner Leon as she works to take care of their eight-year-old son. Like in VA-11 HALL-A, players will tend bar at the titular watering hole, branching the story in multiple directions with each drink they mix. Saint Alicia may seem like an absolute paradise, but underneath its sheen lies a sickness players will uncover with every patron they serve.
