Director of Black Panther, Ryan Coogler has been hired on to produce the Space Jam sequel, according to THR.

LeBron James said he “I loved his vision” for Black Panther, mentioning to THR that when he was a kid there were no black superheroes. “So for Ryan to be able to bring that to kids, it’s amazing,” James said.

Alongside Coogler producing, creator of HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness Terence Nance will be directing.

Talks of a Space Jam sequel have been around for years, with at one point Justin Lin from the Fast and Furious franchise rumored to be attached to it.
